In this video, I try hemp for a week in the form of hemp extract oil and whole food hemp supplements for sleep, stress, and energy! I learn about cannabis, hemp, and CBD and why a whole food hemp supplement may have more to offer than taking just CBD isolate.
With CBD being such a huge wellness trend, I wanted to understand what’s actually going on here.
CBD stands for cannabidiol, the non-psychoactive compound found in the hemp plant, which comes from the cannabis plant. CBD does not get you high! However, it does contain many therapeutic and health benefits, which is why it’s become so wildly popular.
What I started to learn through my research on CBD, is that the hemp plant itself is pretty powerful! While CBD alone has plenty of benefits, taking CBD isolate may not be as effective as taking CBD with other components of the hemp plant for maximum benefit. This is called “the entourage effect” and there has been research to prove CBD’s effectiveness when working in conjunction with other compounds within hemp including terpenes and phytocannabinoids.
